DEAR LUMPY: I'm a right-handed, 7 handicap and have been playing for 12 years. I've always had somewhat of a slice with my driver, but recently it seems to be getting worse. My shoulders line up a little uneven at address; do you think this could be the problem?
DEAR SLICER: The shoulders shouldn't be a problem if it's not affecting the ball flight with your other clubs, so it could be the way you're gripping the driver. A slice is usually the product of a strong leading hand. Next time you're at the range, try sitting on that hand for 5-10 minutes until it goes numb. This will take away the strong leading hand, and have you hitting it straighter.
